Seahawks QB arrested - The offseason often can brew trouble for professional athletes. Excessive partying and the trappings of fame are just too much to handle for some.
Recently, Washington State Police arrested Seahawks quarterback Josh Portis on suspicion of driving under the influence. On May 5, Portis was pulled by Seattle State Patrol for driving 80 MPH on eastbound I-90 in Seattle.
Officers said they "smelled a strong odor of intoxicants" coming his car but the QB denied he had been drinking at all and refused a breath test. However, after being transported to WSP headquarters in Bellevue, Portis finally agreed to a breath test, and registered readings of .092 and .078.
The backup QB was resigned in the offseason and had been practicing with the team prior to his arrest.
Portis will be arraigned in King County District Court in Redmond on May 28.
