Robert Blake and dead wife con artist, American actor Robert Blake appeared at CNN‘s “Piers Morgan Tonight” for an interview on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, as shown in the video, but got angry with host Piers Morgan and later called her wife Bonnie Lee Bakley a ‘con artist’.
As featured at CNN on Wednesday night at around 9 p.m. ET, Robert Blake sat down with Piers Morgan to promote his upcoming memoir “Tales of a Rascal: What I did for Love”, but reacted when the topic about the death of his wife Bonnie Lee Bakley back in 2001.
Blake, 79, who is known for movie ‘In Cold Blood’ and TV series ‘Baretta, was arrested for the murder of Bonnie and was later acquitted. However, he was found liable in a California civil court on November 18, 2005, for her wrongful death.
Meanwhile, Blake erupted during the interview when Morgan questioned whether he was telling the truth about that controversial ordeal. The former child star even raised his voice at one point, but Piers tried to maintain his composure as he goes toe-to-toe with him.
“Well, tell me where I’m lying, because if you don’t know I’m telling you the truth, then you must have a little scratch in the back of your head about where I’m lying. Tell me where I’m lying.” Blake told Morgan, who insisted he did not say that he is not telling the truth.
“You said I might not be telling the truth. What the hell is the difference?” Blake added, who eventually calmed down. Piers later asked him about his relationship with Bonnie and her career as well, saying, “I think she was a con artist, yes. I think she came to Hollywood to con her way into show business.”
“My relationship with her was not bad. I felt sorry for her sometimes because God never gave her that little piece of sunshine that he gave me. I didn’t know her well enough to know her. I love her – well, I love you as a human being. You’re my brother in arms.” Robert said of his late wife.
