Gay NFL players

Gay NFL players - A well-known and current National Football League (NFL) player is strongly considering coming out in public as gay.

Free-agent linebacker and gay-marriage advocate Scott Fujita said that he honestly believes that the players of the NFL have been ready to welcome an openly gay player for quite some time now, CBS sports.com reported.

Fujita further added that the coming out of a player would create much bigger waves outside the locker room than inside.

Freeman said that the player thinking about coming out fears that he would suffer serious harm from homophobic fans and that is the only thing preventing him from coming out.

No openly gay man has ever been on the roster of any major league team. Gay athletes in the past, such as Esera Tuaolo (NFL), Glenn Burke (MLB) and John Amaechi (NBA) came out after they retired from professional sports.
